I started listening to Leonard Cohen within the past few years and so far it's only been "Songs Of Leonard Cohen". Can anyone recommend any other good albums? I've heard that he also has some pretty sweet poetry. I've given you all some pretty sweet free music and shit so it's only fair that you respond. In the comments section. Now. Or I will kill something that you think is cute.

This is one-headedboy from townhall, but Beck and MGMT and Devendra Banhart covered "Songs of Leonard Cohen": http://www.beck.com/recordclub/index.php/category/leonard-cohen-songs-of-leonard-cohen
some of it is good and other parts suck.
yeah I thought I included the video of them doing "So Long Marianne" in this post, but I guess I fucked it up somehow.
I'm with you though, their versions were really hit or miss. It sounded like they didn't take much time to work on arranging, more like a jam session or something.
If you enjoyed his first record, Songs of Leonard Cohen, I suggest you expose yourself to the rest of his catalog in chronological order. Songs From a Room would be next followed by Songs of Love and Hate. Both are spectacular albums. You will not be disappointed. Feel free to skip Death of a Ladies Man and go back to it once you've finished all the studio albums. Phil Spector really messed up Death of a Ladies Man, in my opinion.
