Fuck You Till Friday

I just listened to The Replacments first album "Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash" (in 192k mp3) for the first time with my daughter's generic iPod earbuds on a BlackBerry Storm 9530 and it blew my fucking mind.

I ran into a guy who've I've met at several gigs after my gig last night who was absolutely thrilled with my music. He told me (for the second time) that I reminded him of Paul Westerberg. Now I knew that name and I knew who the Replacements were, and I'm sure that I have heard several of the Mats songs over the years and not realized it. I've even had friends whose musical taste I really respect tell me about them and I just never fucking did anything about it. (Insert hipster insults about how I haven't listened to The Replacements) We done? Cool.

Now this guy told me his name, which I still don't remember, but luckily he gave me a card this time. He procured a card from his girlfriend who told him that she was no longer his "Card Whore" or something to that effect and proceeded to dump all of the cards from her wallet into his hands. So I found my wallet, he has a tattoo shop down the street from me called Stainless Studios and his name is Chris Clements. He told me that he was the former drummer of a band called Pimpadelic who I know zero about other than some friends of mine said that they were some Dallas rap/rock outfit that made it big quickly and burned out just as fast.

I would just like to thank Mr. Clements for his insistence that I check out this band. His energy and urgency convinced me, and he seems to be a very kind person. His tattoo art is pretty neat too, so if you're in the mood to get inked check him out here. I'd also like to extend a big FUCK YOU to Chris because I'll never be able to write anything as good as this. So fuck you till Friday.
